Eddy Oosterlinck-Bracke is a Flemish giant. A man of varied talents, supreme graciousness and indefatigable energy, he is equalled only by wife Mileine. For 30 years this pair has been producing some of the Loire valley’s most royal wines: botrytis-enhanced chenin blanc.
Crafting four gradations of sweet, from the apéritif ‘Les Churelles’ to the decades-lived ‘Quintessence’, Eddy’s passion is clear and is expressed voluminously in his wines. These are not wines of sweetness alone. They are enhanced with ample acidity and evolve continually in the glass and the mouth. Each sip inspires new emotional and sensual enlightenment. Poetic, but true.
His dry whites, ‘Les Monts’ and ‘Le Clos’, posses a weight, along with a hint of oiliness and leather, suggestive of the finest terroir and the gentlest of juice extraction. The white wines of Domaine de Juchepie are truly world class.
In recent years, they have begun selling a little cabernet franc, which is fresh and lively.
